1. Text Overlay
Let’s start with the elephant in the room. A lot of people out there already knows that this Facebook has rules against texts in the ad image itself. So, for the 3 person that still don’t know anything about this, let me explain. As I’ve mentioned before, Facebook has strict rules against ad image with too much text on it. This is because they want their user to have a better experience on Facebook and don’t want them to see poorly designed ads that’s bombarded with text all over Facebook. Basically, this means that your text in your image can’t be more than 20% of the whole image. If it exceeds 20%, you’ll start to get penalised and have to pay more money to get the same results for a normal ad. For example, normally you have to pay RM10 for around 100 engagements, but with an ad that exceeds the 20% mark, you may have to spend RM30 to get the 100 engagements.
2. Boost Post
If you’re only clicking the boost post button to run ads, you’re missing out on a lot. If not boost post, then what’s the other way to run ads? The answer: Facebook Business Manager. You should learn how to use this platform because it has a lot more functionalities like audience insights where you can do a little market research, Custom conversions, where you get more results analytics like purchase or add to cart and there’s so much more functions you can use. 3. Split Tests
When you run an ad campaign on Facebook, there’s always a lot ideas on who is best to target and how your ads should look like. Well, instead of basing on your own preference, why not run both and do a little experiment?
4. Your Ad should serve a bigger purpose
Most businesses run ads just to ask their audience to buy this, sign up for that, or contact us now! But most of us fail to realise that Facebook is a place that’s meant to build relationships. Instead of asking, asking and asking. Why not we offer something first? Imagine you see a stranger in real life that you’re attracted to, will you ask them to go out on a date with you right of the bat? That’s crazy right? Well, let me break it to you, Social Media is the same. So that’s why it is important to have a plan that builds a relationship instead of just asking for sales. It is proven to save more costs, have more sales, and also creates a better customer experience. It’s win-win!
